Spiritual Cross Training: Voice Dialogue and Circling
Earlybird price: 350 euro (until November 1st)
“I am not this”
Who are we beyond the objects of mind we may grasp and take ourselves to be? Can we hold these objects – the controller, the victim, the unique self – in awareness and get curious about what they’re actually like? What remains when layers of identification are gently released? Who is the witness – the sense of “I” observing what is ever-changing, aware of the multitude of voices that inhabit us (and sometimes seem to overtake us)?
Through compassionate inquiry, can we begin to see the function of the aspects we struggle to embrace?
This is what we’ll explore together – making our parts more available to ourselves, so that they no longer run our lives from behind the scenes, but become tools we can use when necessary and appropriate.
Circling & Surrendered Leadership meets Voice Dialogue
Circling & Surrendered Leadership is an undirected practice. We give space for what arises in presence. Guided by aliveness, different voices may come forward, depending on the context. Often, we discover our tendencies – how we favor certain voices leaving others in the shadow. The experience of seeing yourself not speaking/acting/moving in the way that feels most true and authentic is a central feature of the practice.
Voice dialogue directs attention to particular aspects of experience. We get to know these parts at an embodied level – and speak from them. This practice invites us to befriend the selves we may habitually disregard, merge with or reject. Over-identifying with some parts while turning away from others can create blind spots and a less effective walk in the world. Embracing our full range of expression brings more dynamism and a felt sense of wholeness. As our inner landscape changes, so too does the world we see.
These practices inform and complement each other. We become more aware of “who” is speaking, while becoming better at really embodying different aspects of ourselves.
This is hard
We are exploring our identifications and the thing we call “ourselves”. It can be tricky territory to navigate and might bring you in touch with all the ways in which you don’t want to show up in the world.
This is easy
This can be a playful and fun discovery of unexpected resources within you, which are always already present. Practicing Voice Dialogue you can ”fake it ’til you make it” — speak as the voice until you find it. No need to be familiar with it beforehand.
What to expect
This is an intimate retreat for max 10 participants. We begin on the evening of the 14th with some gentle exercises to land in presence and connection – a soft introduction to the group, the space and the field of exploration.
Throughout the weekend we’ll have plenty of time to explore identity and identification. We’ll experiment with how Voice Dialogue and Circling & Surrendered Leadership complement one another in cultivating greater awareness of our being in the world and the patterns that shape our sense of self.
We will be practicing:
– Speaking from your distinct parts, your separate self and from your larger, more inclusive self.
– Becoming more aware of where you and others are speaking from.
– Allowing your parts to not only speak, but to move and express.
– Trusting the parts that show up in presence, welcoming them and offering them space to unfold.
Price
The price for the retreat is 400 euro (including vegan/vegetarian food and lodging).
Earlybird price: 350 euro (untill November 1st)
