Stalking Smallness
4 day retreat based on Circling, Relatefulness, Flow and Surrendered Leadership
Vision
We, Michael Blas and Peter Munthe-Kaas, met for the first time at the Borderland 2025, after years of subtly stalking each other on the internet. We have both been leading relating practices for more than a decade and are passionate about how to bring these practices into our lives.
At this retreat will be exploring the waters of human connection. We will be working with how we can lead ourselves from a place of greater freedom, trust and love through becoming more in touch with our present moment experience. We are working with the sorting system that defines our reality and thus the ways in which it is possible for us to act in the world. In other words we are taking a playful look at our identifications.
Some of the themes that will likely come up this retreat are:
– Moving with pleasure.
– Meeting and dancing at the edge of your boundary.
– Seeing the “rules” you bring with you more clearly.
– Exploring the greatness that comes with being small and insignificant.
– And the joy that comes from moving with aliveness.
As always, when working with relational presencing practices, we will be training the muscles of:
– Staying connected to your present moment experience.
– Allowing yourself to be impacted by others and sharing that impact.
– Generously sharing yourself in service of connection.
– Deeply listening to the experience of others.
– Meeting others from a place of love.
– Bringing presence and truth into connection without being attached to the outcome.
Video introduction
We had a talk about our ideas and visions for the retreat back in October 2025. Maybe, just maybe the title of the event will make more sense to you after watching this.
What to expect
You can expect 4 days of intense practice in a container where two of the main traditions of relating arts meet, collaborate, bump heads and find each other again in a friendly container at the Tögel Art Center outside of Stockholm, Sweden.
What are relational presencing practices
With relational presencing practices we are pointing to practices and leadership approaches such as Circling, Relatefulness and Transformational Connection. These practices are great for getting more in touch with our present moment experience together with someone else. It typically involves sharing our thoughts, feelings or bodily sensations as they are happening and then seeing how it impacts the people around us.
What is Flow/Surrendered Leadership?
One way of understanding Flow/Surrendered Leadership is that it is an opportunity to see your own Karma in action. You get to see how the way you are holding yourself in the world impacts others and thus feeds back to become your experience of the world. More concretely Surrendered Leadership is a group practice where you are invited to surrender/welcome whatever is happening for you in the moment and lead yourself from there.
What is embodiment?
Embodiment points to actually being there, in your body, taking up as much space as you do with whatever is going on for you. The path to more embodiment typically is a process of discovery where we start noticing all the ways in which we are holding ourselves back, suppressing emotions, or not trusting that we are welcome.

Meet the facilitators
-
Peter Munthe-KaasI am a Stockholm based researcher, body therapist, coach and workshop facilitator. I am interested in practices that support me and others in relating and listening better and believe that the ability to relate to myself, others, society and nature is key to living a happy life in service of what is good in the world.
-
Michael BlasI am based most often in Austin, TX. Right before he died, my grandfather said to me, “Don’t ever retire.” I was participating in relating practices in my off-time and decided to make that my career. I love connection and I love how I’m changed by listening to people without trying to change them. Some people realize that we can only ever know people better. Even fewer understand that the same is true about ourselves.

I’ve been at two Weekends of Circling with Peter and found them to be perfectly challenging and wonderfully inspiring. Peter combines a sensitive empathy with a direct honesty that opens a safe and exciting space for exploring. I’m very grateful for my experiences and would recommend Peter and his approach to Circling to anyone who is interested in exploring themselves and how they show up with others.
