State of the Relating Arts #4
Creating the communities of our dreams
Relating arts practices lead to deeper connection among us but do they also lead to more community in our lives? Well, relating practices don’t just create our dream community but we can become active in creating the community of our dreams. Both Stephen Reid and Richard D. Bartlett have created meaningful communities in their lives that show up for each other in everyday life with a sense of belonging and reliable support. In this month’s community call Stephen and Richard share some of their thoughts and practices for community building with us.
The guests
Stephen has instigated the move of his London community to a countryside region in England where they live in close proximity to each other, before he moved country to Sweden for his wife and since then has been creating community in Stockholm.
Rich grew up with a tigh knit community and experienced a sense of belonging that he has since then recreated in different global contexts including communities with financial support networks and runs Casa Tilo, a co-living house outside of Barcelona now.

Peter Munthe-KaasI am a Stockholm based researcher, body therapist, coach and workshop facilitator. I am interested in practices that support me and others in relating and listening better and believe that the ability to relate to myself, others, society and nature is key to living a happy life in service of what is good in the world.

Mareike ChristensenI am a trained integral psychotherapist and offer conflict mediation and coaching and lead embodied and relational presencing workshops. In my workshops which I have led since 2020 people often feel both confronted and called by my truthfulness and deep attunement. I trust deeply in my experience and like to follow a sense of aliveness into the unknown.
