Sofie ”Salka” Guerrera de la Paz

I am a relational, embodiment and presence-based facilitator and coach with a passion to midwife a more alive, connected and regenerative culture. Trained in Ecopsychology as well as Transformational Connection, I believe that individual and relational healing are stepping stones to the healing of the Earth.

Freedom of expression

What is more precious than the freedom to be oneself fully? First experiencing circling back in 2021, I was wildly aroused by the potency of the field of this relating art. I felt deep joy encountering a practice welcoming everything just as it is; the full range of human expression. The wild and the untamed. The real and the raw. The natural and the genuine. Being in a space of uncurated and refreshingly honest co-existence with other humans, felt like a deep sigh of relief.

I appreciate the richness of a practice like circling where each participant is drawn there by unique reasons, their individual journeys unfolding in a shared container where everyone is mirrored simultaneously. In surrendered leadership I am often in awe of the perceived perfection and inherent wisdom in what is emerging when we trust, let go and allow.

A rewilding practice

To me, circling and transformational connection, are rewilding practices. They both offer spaces where we get to meet and acknowledge the domesticated and culturally trained parts of ourselves, that we might want to liberate ourselves from given the opportunity. Here is a chance to explore what is truly natural, unique and authentic to us.

I rejoice being present whenever a more true expression comes through for someone, bathing in the vitalizing energy that brings. A birth of sorts. A clear seeing, feeling or sensing. Embodiment being an invitation to our animal selves, sensuous and instinctual.

The voice of the ecological unconscious

We are all cells of the Earth. What we are feeling and experiencing is part of evolution, containing important information. In relational practices we are often surprised – as well as not – by the universality of our deepest wounds, fears and longings. We might also be awestruck by the wide diversity of experiences and reactions in a group. In our uniqueness and likeness, we are all part of the same living organism.

Beyond the possible personal gains of engaging in the relational arts, I often have the sense that in doing so, we are also facilitating the emergence of evolutionary processes and movements, archetypal in their nature. It can be perceived as life expressing itself through the group, as the natural laws manifesting themselves through a social lens or as the ecological unconscious being revealed.

Professional background

With a bachelor degree in Journalism and Ethnology I’ve worked in the Human Rights field since 2007, mainly focused on girls and women’s rights in relation to systemic oppression and violence. I have extensive experience coaching volunteers in empathic listening and sustainable activism, as well as leading groups in transformative and contemplative practices. I’m trained in Mindfulness, Circling, Transformational Connection, Health-Promoting Leadership, Holistic Coaching and Ecopsychology, all methodologies forming part of my peace and healing work.

Creating a circling collective

After years of shared longing in the circling community for presence-based communal living, in the autumn of 2024 I initiated the creation of a circling collective. In the beginning of 2025 four of us realized the dream, moving into a beautiful four-floor villa with a big garden in Huddinge, south of Stockholm. The experience has been deeply enriching and full of growth, living the principles of circling in everyday life. At the house we host different workshops and courses and we’re open for collaborations.

Nice things people say about me

Going into a meditative embodiment practice with Sofie’s guidance felt a bit like stepping into a fairytale — someone began playing a tune on the piano, everyone was delighted, and aliveness came like a breeze into the room.
– Andreas

Sofie has a beautiful gift for lovingly guiding others. Her warm, genuine presence made it easy for me to settle into safety and trust. She created a space where I could journey to the deepest parts of myself, where softness lives and everything is allowed to be exactly as it is – from where I am not just surviving, but truly living. Eternally grateful for her leadership.
– Monica

I feel heard, seen, and safe in Salka’s presence, whether in conversation or in one of her workshops. She leads with both compassion and fierce authenticity, not from in front, but beside you. And somehow, that gives me permission to step more fully into my whole self.
